Stuck in the UK & Anjunabeats Wallpapers
I’ve been relatively busy creating things here and there while trying to pack and tying up loose ends at home. I’m leaving in 9 days, so I’m going to use as much spare time as I can for my site. This includes the redesign and releasing some things perhaps, if I can manage to.
Stuck in the UK
In the meantime, here are some things I’ve worked on recently. One is my new blog, which I’ll be posting in frequently from now on and hopefully over the next two years. It will follow my experience while I’m in the UK. More importantly, it will have regular posts with tips for Australians travelling to the UK, but also will have tips everyone else could probably use as well.

The design and behind it needs a few more tweaks here and there, some extra styling and some colour changes in the fonts that I forgot. But it’s mostly complete. It will look a bit better once I’ve added a few things to the Photos and Reviews part to the right, as it does look a bit empty at the moment.
Someone described the design as “…bloody gorgeous! It reminds me ye olde english pub.” Now every time I look at it, I can’t stop picturing English pubs in my mind!
Be sure to check it out, and if you want to follow what I get up to, subscribe to the feed.
Anjunabeats Wallpaper
I made a wallpaper fairly quickly the other day for myself and Kym. I already uploaded it to deviantART, but decided to throw it up here as well for search purposes. There aren’t many good Anjunabeats wallpapers around.
For those that are a bit clueless when it comes to trance, Anjunabeats is a trance label, started by Jonathan “Jono” Grant and Paavo Siljamäki in 2000. They have such artists as Above & Beyond, Kyau & Albert, Luminary, OceanLab, Smith & Pledger and Menno De Jong on the label.
Very awesome stuff, and I love the Anjunabeats logo.

The download contains the following resolutions:
- 1024×768
- 1280×1024
- 1400×1050
- 1600×1200
- 1440×900

hey nice to hear your coming to sunny England… Where abouts in England you heading to, or are you travelling around?
Hey Aran - I’ll be living in Saltash, Cornwall for the entire length of my stay, though I plan on doing some travelling as well (just like I would here, have home but go on holidays, more or less). :)
Oh wow, that “Stuck in the UK” design is awesome, all the little details are great! I’m subscribed :)
@Nyssa: I ended up reading your “Stuck in the UK” blog after commenting and saw the information about where your staying and was thinking you didn’t mention anything about travelling and I thought that it will be silly to come to England and not travel a bit.
You already thought of some places to visit?
There is plenty of places to check out.
Thanks Mike :)
@Aran - I have quite a big list of places from people giving me suggestions over at deviantART.com. No confirmations though, except I’ll probably be heading to Portugal and Scotland at some point for sure. Plus revisits of places I visited while I was there last year (locations in Cornwall and Devon).
If you have any “must visit” suggestions, feel free to share. :)
I guess it really depends on what kind of places you like to visit… If you like to see the sites, York is a must, city with such history. If you want to see more historical places and that sort of thing check out National Trust places, there’s hundreds throughout the country which are great. For example Fountains Abbey which is National Trust is also a World’s Heritage Site and that is located in North Yorkshire.

Check out the website, most National Trust places are a great place to visit.
If your more interested in cities, then York, Manchester, Liverpool, etc…
History is definitely a big thing on my list (I love anything historic or natural). Cities aren’t much my thing though.
I’ve been to the National Trust website, but only the Lydford Gorge page (I visited there last year). Was gorgeous and will definitely be going there again (easy to get to by bus).
