nyssabrowndesign

Welcome to my redesign - okay, I'm kidding. This is a temporary "interval" theme. It didn't take too long. I am still redesigning but mean while, I'm putting this up. Why? I have some other projects I need to get stuck into, which reduces my time a little. I'd also like to contemplate my redesign a bit as I'm currently unsure about its direction. To understand more and the reasons behind my interval theme, read I haven't redesigned, but stay tuned!

PPost Refresh - Custom Pixelpost Admin

The administration area for Pixelpost isn’t the prettiest (no offense Pixelpost developers!) . The colours are quite bland and I find it quite boring, especially if you’re using it at least once a day. I saw someone did a modification of the colours for the Pixelpost admin, made it fixed width, smaller text size etc and didn’t quite like that one either, so I made my own. I’m now releasing it. I might even make some more as it was quite fun to do.

About PPost Refresh

There isn’t a lot special about it, except the fact that it’s completely restyled to look more modern. But I suppose that isn’t the only thing. The navigation has been moved and fixed to the viewport so it’s always at reach.

There are currently 5 colours available, but I will take requests for different shades/colours (though it’s fairly simple to do it by just changing some hex values).

All areas are styled, with the comments sections having their own classes for approved and moderation (Akismet page comments, if turned on, have the same styling as moderation comments)…

Using PPost Refresh

  1. Upload admin_index_colour.css to Your Pixelpost Installation > admin
  2. Upload ppost-refresh folder (contains images) to Your Pixelpost Installation > admin > img
  3. Rename admin_index.css to admin_index_original.css (or something similar). This is to ensure that you still have the original CSS if you wish to go back to it. If you don’t rename it, no problem. You could just download Pixelpost to get the admin_index.css file or someone will give it to you.
  4. Rename admin_index_colour.css to admin_index.css
  5. Refresh!

As a user of Pixelpost, this stylesheet works great! You did a wonderful job. But I’m sure you would get many more downloads if you listed it on Pixelpost Extend.

    Thanks again!

I’ll be checking this out for sure. It looks like a sweet deal. Most of us pay attention to the front-end and leave the back-end as it is. I know for a fact someone is/was working on a complete redesign for PP2.0 but in the meantime this is just awesome.

Thanks Dennis. And it will be interesting to see what happens in future versions of PP overall.

Just what I was looking for! Very well thought out and executed. Well done! Perhaps in time themes like this will make its way into the default pixelpost builds. Thanks again.

Excellent design for a great idea, I’m only starting with pixelpost but it’s true that the admin interface really looks too basic. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, was trying out your nice stylish admin, but is it me or is the admin_index_colour.css missing in the zip file.

    ubuntuser + Cako - Thanks :)

Quibbler - admin_index_colour.css simply means admin_index_blue/green/etc.css. The “colour” just represents that there is a colour in general in the file name. :)
