Advertising

My redesign is coming very soon (in less than a month - let’s just hope I can get it done by new years day without being side tracked with other work!) and I have some advertising spaces available with the new design. I’ll be taking half-banner ads (234×60) and text links. Thanks to Adii, who has given me some sound advice, I’ve made up my mind on what I will be doing and how.

Half-banner ads are going to displayed in the sidebar, nearer to the top of the sidebar (which will be on every single page/post of my website with the exception of the portfolio page). This will be a “featured sites” section, rather than a “sponsors” or “advertisement” section. Text links are further down the sidebar but not at the bottom. It will be in between my recent comments and another section, alongside my “link love” section. These will also be site wide, besides the portfolio.

Half-banner Advertising

• 234 x 60
• Accepting a max of 4 advertisers
• $30 per month or $60 if you buy 3 months advertising (3 months for 2 - this is a limited offer to kick start advertising on nyssajbrown.net)

Text Link Advertising

• Text links with your site favicon right next to it
• Enough room for 5 links (for now)
• $10 per month or $40 if you buy 6 months (6 months for 4 - again, this is a limited offer to kick start advertising)

Both forms of advertising will be targetted towards design, development and WordPress related websites. I’m particularly looking at freelancers, community sites (including tutorial sites) that would be of use to my visitors. Last week I was working on a much needed facelift for purenarcotic.com and finalized it on the weekend. I suppose this is nothing special so why would I bring it up? I guess the main point of this is, it’s a style different from what I’m usually asked to do, or do for fun, or for myself. It is dark and gritty, usually an acquired taste in web design, which not a lot of people have. I’m happy with the way that particular design turned out and it was good for practice. I feel prepared for almost anything style-wise.
