Redesign Hunger
Redesigning is like hunger. All designers feel it and more often than they probably should. I’m probably one of the most guilty people for redesigning all too often, but is that a bad thing? Of course not. Redesigning your blog/website is probably one of the best ways to flex your new design and development muscles and show the world what you’re capable of.
Adii is one of these people. Adii has recently redesigned his blog, going for a more commercial feel yet still keeping his personal touches, such as the polaroid photos in the centre of his header. While his previous design wasn’t so bad, I do feel it’s an improvement and is the perfect example of what I said at the beginning of this post. Redesigning is one of the best ways to flex your new design and development muscles.
Within Adii’s The Redesign Post-op, he explains to us what’s new and what isn’t:
- Usability / User-friendly experience
- Grid-based design
- It’s still personal, yet slightly commercial
- Advertising spots
What I personally think is the best improvement overall for “Polaroid Redesign V2″ (Adii’s official name for his personal redesign), is the content. It’s much cleaner and friendly to look at. It has contrast, yet it’s not over the top to the point where it blinds you. There is plenty of colour to keep it interesting, yet not too much that it will detract from the importance of his content (his articles and sidebar).
Overall, his redesign is a general improvement and was a pleasant surprise, but I personally can’t wait to see what is up his sleeve for another redesign in the future (hopefully not too far in the future!).
On another, yet related note, Mike Robinson has recently announced he’ll too be redesigning. I can’t wait. All this redesigning makes me hungry for my own redesign (though would that be so wise when I only redesigned what seems like yesterday? ;)).
We’re always learning more, changing our styles and finding new interests which makes us crave a place we can show off our best. :D
Quid pro quid? :) Thanks for the mention and glad that you like the design!
It was only yesterday, wasnt it? *giggles*
:P
