I’m very disappointed…
…in myself. I promise myself over and over again that I will update this blog more often and I never do! ;)
It’s pretty obvious I’ve been fairly busy. I haven’t really done any real updating of this blog (or my other one for that matter). I guess I could say I haven’t been so busy that I haven’t had time to update, but this wouldn’t be true. I have had time. But have I had the energy for it? Not quite!
Things are going well. I’ve completed one WordPress theme for a client and they seem happy with it. I’ll share it when it eventually gets online at it’s home, in a week or two. This week I’m working on something a little less complicated; just a basic XHTML and CSS website, with a little PHP, along with some business card designs. The client I had booked in next week has pulled out, so I guess it’s lucky I now have a little time to spare for some projects.
The first would probably be my world flag stamps. These are created for deviantART, where stamps have become the way the show something you support and many other things. They’re time consuming to make but it’s fun!
I’m also contemplating designing and coding up a new WordPress theme for release. I was meant to be releasing The Garden as theme, but I decided not to and go for something completely new. My design skills have improved so much, even since doing my most recent redesign. My skills seem to grow with each new design I do and I’m loving it. Not only are my skills in design itself improving, but as are my development skills. I’m learning the most common problems I come across with CSS and fixing them, meaning I can fix it quicker next time the problem comes up. This cuts down a lot of frustration time and projects being complete faster.
Back onto a similar topic of downloads, I’ve been tracking the number of downloads on themes and other available downloads on my site, and I’m happy. I’ve not done any real advertisements of myself, it comes from other people that do it without me asking. I feel somewhat proud of the fact I haven’t yet resorted to paying for advertising my website at all.
Other projects on the “up and coming list” include a new series of articles I’m going to be posting, to make sure I have at least one weekly article that gets posted. It’s all design related, for obvious reasons. I’ve also started writing a semi-editorial, semi-biography about an issue I’ve had to face with every day of my life for at least the past 8 years, which should be interesting. I’m not yet sure how everyone will get to read this though. If anyone has any idea of how I should go about it, please share your ideas. I’m open to suggestions!
I feel you pain Nyssa! My blog has been quiet for the last two months as I have been really busy too. Things are settling down now though, so I’ll be back soon (promising to post more too).
I look forward to seeing your new designs though, you are getting better each time and it’s exciting to see what’s next!
I noticed how quite it has been. I’ve been waiting for something in my reader but still nothing from you. But I understand the busy thing. Will be excited to see some new stuff from you though. :)
This is the time of the year when blogging generally slows down for everyone. People going back to school, stuff like that. Personally, I have no excuse for my own lack of updates! ;)
Everyone who blogs…has these times.
Heck, I don’t feel like posting at all…just a post this last week cause of a rant I had.
You’ll get back in the groove, and your site is so good to look at already!
*hugs*
Im finally home :P
Its been great to watch your skills develop, your becoming quite and in demand gal ;)
Mike: Well, you have been busy recently, with your girlfriend, no? ;)
TechZ: Indeed, you’re quite right, though the unfortunate situation for me is I’ve never quite got right into it! :)
Kym: Well, not sure about that when I have clients pulling out ;) But I guess it’s okay since though one has pulled out, I had another one come up to make up for it. lol
