Photoblogging with WordPress
Yesterday I decided I wanted a photoblog. Not because I need one, really, because I really don’t need one. I have other means of doing these things with my photos. But since over at deviantART I’m closing comments on my photography, I decided I’d use a photoblog for those that truly did want to leave me a comment.
I searched around for photoblog software. In the past, I have never really been that pleased with any photoblog software. There was always something that disappointed me. I knew WordPress could be used as a photoblog, and I only knew of themes that really enabled this to be possible. But yesterday I finally came across a plugin that turns WordPress into a photoblog. It works great, and now I will probably never use purpose built photoblog software but this plugin with WordPress (cause we all know I do like WordPress!).
Yet another photoblog is perfect. The way it changes WordPress into a photoblog is actually quite impressive. I personally would never have thought of it. I also found a nice little theme, made specifically for use with yapb. Naturally, I had to edit it to match the rest of my website, since I will link directly to it. Great theme anyway, modified or not.
It’s amazing how WordPress is a blogging platform, though can be easily used as a CMS for a full-blown website or even a photoblog. WordPress’ possibilities truly are endless.
I saw the PhotoBlog you put up, it works SO nicely with your theme and it’s such a nice addition to your blog.
Thanks TechZ ;) I just need to remember to update it a little more often (along with this blog). :P
